(Patrick County, Va.) – A 16-year-old has been charged with making a threat that forced authorities to evacuate Patrick County High School.

School workers discovered a bomb threat scrawled on a bathroom stall near the school gymnasium around noon Friday.

The sheriff’s office evacuated the school and students were bused to the Rotary Building in Stuart while police searched the school.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Department and Virginia State Police responded to the scene with explosive-detecting dogs, however, no bomb was found and students were allowed to return later in the day.

The 16-year-old is being held on charges of threatening to bomb a building and destruction of public property.
