(Danville, Va.) – The nation’s largest law enforcement agency has joined the effort to find the killer of a Danville shopkeeper.

54-year-old Tahir Mahmud was gunned down inside his Joy Food Store in the 700 block of Riverside Drive on September 12, during an armed robbery. Police responded and found the cash drawer open with Mahmud slumped behind the counter. He left behind a widow and a young child. The store has remained shuttered since the homicide.

The FBI has offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and indictment of those responsible.

The investigation is spotlighted on the FBI’s “Most Wanted” list released Monday.
