(Rockingham County, N.C.) — The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office spent the weekend searching for 72-year-old Walter Otto Nuemann after his empty fishing boat was found in a cove on Belews Lake around 1:00 Saturday afternoon. Newmann lives in Davie County, North Carolina and a neighbor saw him leave Thursday with his fishing boat. He never returned.

A search and recovery effort was mounted Saturday and continued Sunday morning, but Newman is still missing. Neumann is described as having hazel eyes, gray hair and is around 5’10”.
