The cause of a fire at Woodberry Hills Elementary School in Danville is under investigation. The Danville Fire department responded to the fire at 11:47 Saturday morning. 

The DFD responded with  3 engines, 1 ladder truck, 1 support unit and 1 command unit consisting of 16 personnel. Crews arrived within four minutes of being dispatched to find heavy fire and smoke located on the rear corner with fire extension into the building.  

DFD crews made an interior attack on the fire with a quick knockdown and other units searched the interior of the school to verify that no one was occupying the building. The Danville Fire Department was assisted on scene by Danville Police Dept., Danville Life Saving Crew, Danville Electric Dept., Danville Water & Gas and Danville School maintenance. 

DFD Fire Marshal’s Office and Danville PD Crime Scene are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.  No injuries were reported to fire personnel.  

Classes at the school aren’t expected to be interrupted.
