Virginia State Police warn of a new phone scam where the caller claims to be a VSP detective and says they have a warrant for a sex offender violkation which can be cleared up by making payment over the phone. VSP says they never demand payments in this manner and any sex offender enforcement is done in person. Hang up if you get one of these calls.
