(Danville, VA) – The Danville Police Department has made a series of arrests in connection with a shooting on June 16th.  The shooting took place Wednesday just before 2pm in the parking lot of the Sunrise store on South Main Street.  A short time later a 15-year-old arrived at SOVAH Health’s emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound to his foot.

Police have arrested Kelby Williams, 38 of Greensboro and charged him with shooting from a vehicle.  They have also arrested Donald Thompson, 35 of Danville and charged him with Possession of a firearm by a felon, malicious wounding, and shooting from a vehicle.

Over the course of the investigation, it is believed the two got into and argument over a relationship.  Williams shot at Thompson first in the parking lot.  Both men left in their own vehicles.  Thompson caught up with Williams who had the juvenile in the car with him and fired again hitting the 15-year-old in the foot.  Williams took the juvenile to the hospital for treatment.
