DANVILLE, Va. – An early morning fire gutted a Danville home.

Firefighters were called to the scene of a working fire just before 3 a.m. Friday. The two-alarm call came from the 100 block of Shannon Drive, where units found a one-story brick home fully involved.

There were no reports of injuries.

Five engines and a ladder truck responded and remain on scene.

The cause will be investigated by the Danville Fire Marshal’s office.

The Red Cross is assisting the two adults and five children who were displaced by the fire.
