DANVILLE, Va. – A stabbing victim from Danville has died in a Roanoke hospital, three weeks after being attacked by his girlfriend.

Christopher France died early Sunday morning, July 5, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Danville Police say he was stabbed during a domestic assault and are now carrying France’s death as a homicide

Danville Police responded to a 911 call for a stabbing victim in the 700 block of Melville Avenue at 1:00 a.m. June 13. Officers found France lying in the street and bleeding from a stab wound to his arm. The Danville Lifesaving Crew transported France to Sovah Health – Danville and later transferred him to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Police arrested Shannon Price the night of June 13 for malicious wounding, and she remains in the Danville City Jail.

According to police, Price, age 29, and France, age 27, were in a long-term domestic relationship and had recently moved to Danville.
