DANVILLE, Va. – Dr. Scott Spillmann, the Southside District Health Director for the Virginia Department of Health, says there are four positive coronavirus cases in Danville and two in Henry County.

Sovah Health CEO Alan Larson said Wednesday that two patients are currently being treated at the hospital in Danville an none in Martinsville.

Spillmann acknowledged that there are eight positive cases in the Danville-Pittsylvania County region, but said “that’s a rather fluid number because we always have several in the works and it’s a matter of when the actual positive results come through.”  He said the health department is reaching out to people who may have come into contact with those testing positive and asking those individuals to self-isolate.

There has been one death in the Pittsylvania-Danville Health District but none at the Sovah Health hospitals in Danville and Martinsville.
