DANVILLE, Va. – The Danville Family YMCA will close its doors for two weeks in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Under recommendation of YMCA of the USA, the local organization has decided to close, effective March 16, 2020 at 12pm, through at least March 29, 2020.

In a statement Monday, the Danville YMCA said: We understand that closing our facility will affect many of our community members. With this in mind, it is essential for your health and the health of our community that we take great care of ourselves in spirit, mind, and body during this time. To help ensure that all members of our community stay active and engaged, the YMCA will be offering free virtual MOSSA fitness classes via our Facebook page. A new class will be posted each morning at 5:30am and will be available throughout the day.

The decision to close the facility was made to help ensure the safety of everyone in the community.
