(Danville, Va.) – A 19-year old Danville man was arrested Wednesday after State Police say he crashed his car into a mobile home on the Halifax Road.
Jometrius Ladonte King is charged with damage to property, possession of marijuana, reckless driving, failing to stop for police, and driving on a suspended or revoked operator’s license.
Investigators were attempting to serve a warrant on another individual when they spotted King and another individual smoking an illegal substance. A chase followed and King led authorities onto the Halifax Road. The car went out of control on a curve and crashed, coming to rest under a trailer. No one was home at the time.
Both occupants fled. One was arrested immediately and the other was taken into custody after a brief foot chase.
State Police said Kalob Jones, 18, of Danville, was a passenger in the car and suffered minor injuries.
King is being held in the Danville City Jail under a $10,000 secured bond.
The investigation is being handled by the Virginia State Police.
