(Halifax County, Va.) — The South Boston Police Department has filed charges against four people following a fight at Halifax County High School during graduation ceremonies on May 26.

Warrants were obtained and one man is in custody. 18-year-old Moses J. Herndren of South Boston is charged with one count of disorderly conduct and two counts of assault and battery.

Jail records also indicate that Hendren — a 2018 graduate of the high school — was charged Sunday with carrying a concealed weapon, subsequent offense, and receipt of a stolen firearm, in connection with a separate alleged offense on May 11. He was denied bond and remains in the Halifax Adult Detention Center.

In all, eight charges have been filed as a result of the altercation. Police have a warrant for a 19-year-old South Boston man charged with disorderly conduct, two outstanding warrants for a 23-year-old Clover woman, and two warrants for an 18-year-old South Boston man.
