(Halifax County, Va.) — Three people were injured in a fiery crash on Route 501 in Halifax County Wednesday afternoon when a logging truck collided with a Dodge Durango. State Police say the accident happened about 3:15 at the Woodbourne Rd. intersection just north of Halifax. A woman and two teens were treated for non-life threatening injuries. The tractor-trailer was headed north on Route 501 and the Dodge Durango was southbound when they collided. The cab of the logging truck burst into flames. Volunteers from three departments responded and a section of 501 was closed for nearly two hours. Virginia State Police are investigating the accident.
