Wentworth, NC –Rockingham County investigators are looking for leads in the theft of heavy equipment batteries taken from a church construction site .  Authorities say this is the second time in the past few weeks that someone has stolen batteries from equipment parked at Mount Carmel Church in Ruffin.  The latest theft involved two 12-volt batteries and a 24-volt crossbar from a 2005 Caterpillar 120G grader, taken Friday night or early Saturday morning.  Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call the Rockingham County Sheriff’s office or their Crimestoppers line.
