Baby Supply Drop Off for Oklahoma Victims


Please help the victims of Oklahoma's horrible tornado by donating diapers, baby wipes, powdered baby formula, toiletries and non-perishable food items.  Piedmont Pharmacy (305 Mt Cross Road) is the designated drop-off point for these items - between the hours of 8am - 6pm.  All donations will then be given to God's Pit Crew to take to Oklahoma.

Memorial Day Service


You are invited to Memorial Day Services at Lee Street National Cemetery, Sunday, May 26th at 2:30pm.  In case of inclement weather, the services will be held at Mosley memorial United Methodist Church on Berryman Avenue.  The program is sponsored by VFW Post 647 in cooperation with local veteran’s posts and chapters.

3rd Annual Battle of Martinsville Civil War

Copperhead Movie Screening


The National Civil War Chaplains Museum is pleased to announce a very special screening of Ron Maxwell’s latest Civil War epic, Copperhead, on Tuesday, June 4 at 7pm at the Cinemark Movies 10 in the Candler’s Station Shopping Center in Lynchburg, VA. Free School Readiness Camp


Help prepare your child for his/her first school experience by registering him/her for a Free School Readiness Camp, June 17th - July 18th.  This camp will help rising kindergartners and first graders feel comfortable in a school environment and learn social skills by interacting with other children.  Camp will take place Monday - Thursdays, 9am - 1pm, with free transportation and lunch provided.  In order to take advantage of this readiness camp, you must register your child by June 5th.  For more information, contact Grove Park Pre School at 434.799.6437.

Virginia Cantaloupe Festival

Fish Fry

Motorcycle Benefit Ride


Elon Baptist Church will be sending a group to Standing Rock Indian Reservation in July.  To help support this mission to provide relief for those who struggle with issues of unemployment, alcoholism, poverty and domestic violence in this desolate land IN North Dakota, they are hosting a benefit motorcycle ride Saturday, June 8th.  This ride will provide funds for the expenses. Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 72 Corn Hole Tournament


Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #72 is hosting their 3rd Annual Corn Hole Tournament Saturday, June 8th, 2pm at Caswell County Fairgrounds.  Early registration is $40 per team; registration day of the contest is $50 per team.  Rules: ACA rules apply, no outside bags, no "Skunk Rule."  Boards and bags will be provided by tournament staff; double elimination; 40 team limit; no alcohol, please.  Prizes include $500 for first place, $300 for second place and $200 for third place.  In the event of rain, the event will be postponed to Saturday, June 15th.  Pre-registration may be done in advance by contacting Melissa Poole at 336.694.9311 ext 245.

Help Build a No Kill Shelter


Help support the cause to build a "no kill pet adoption center," Saturday, June 8th from 10am - 3pm at 11060 Franklin Turnpike.  There will be an adoption fair, yard sale, bake sale, music t shirts, the DARE truck, door prizes and hot dog lunch ($5 per order - includes chips and drink) and more! Trinity Baptist Church Community Day Celebration


Trinity Baptist Church, on the corner of South Main and Stokes Streets in Danville, Virginia, across from the new Walgreens pharmacy is having its second annual “Community Day Celebration on Saturday, June 8th from 10am - 3pm. 

The event
will be kicked off with a 1K walk/run and feature various community leaders speaking, clothing and food giveaways, and health screenings performed by Danville Parks and Recreation’s Checkpoint Team.  Other community agencies and businesses that will be represented include Danville-Pittsylvania Community Services, the Danville Cancer Association, Pittsylvania County Community Action, First State Bank, and more.  The Danville Police Department will be processing fingerprints for children, and emergency vehicles will be on-site to explore.

Danville’s own Bryant Hood of StayHood Productions and local Christian choirs and dance groups will be providing entertainment, along with Donnie Hunt, who will be performing Christian comedy throughout the day.  The children’s corner will feature Danville Parks and Recreation’s Fun Wagon, a bounce house, face-painting, and games.  Lunch, fun activities for all ages, and exciting prize giveaways will complete the day, but most of all, you and your family are invited to experience community fellowship at Trinity Baptist Church.  For more information, please contact us by phone at 434.793.0650, or by e-mail at

Jason's Junction Benefit


Help show love and support to Jason "Big Greazy" Singleton, who is currently battling cancer.  His friends are hosting a Jason's Junction Benefit in the lot behind Wachovia in Clarksville, Va, Sunday, June 9th from 1pm - 6pm.  They'll feature a car, motorcycle and truck show/cruise-in.  Also, there will be a bass competition.  All proceeds will benefit Jason in his fight with beating cancer.  For more info, contact Randi Jones at 434.272.9875.

Vacation Bible School

CROP Hunger Walk KickOff Meeting

Andrew Haley Memorial Junior Golf Tournament

Dance Classes
