Anointed for Battle

Abundant Life World Outreach Church Women of War Ministry present "Anointed for Battle' on Wednesday July 23, Pastor Connie Bulter is Guest Speaker and Thursday July 24th  Apostle Mary McKensie  guest speaker.Come out for two powerful days of anointing. Summer Science Camps

Danville Science Center is hosting Summer Science Camps! Kids ages 4 - 7 can explore machines, animals and wind in air during STEM in the Air, Monday - Friday mornings from 9:30am - noon.  Children 8 - 12 can explore science in motion during Camp MOVE-IT, Monday - Friday afternoons 1p - 4p.  For more information, call 434.791.5160 Ext 0.

Art Show

The art show will be hosted on Friday, July 25, from 6pm to 9pm in one of the Davis Storage warehouses (Warehouse #4, at 600 Craghead St). Grace and Main would love to invite you to join them for a night of art, music, food, fellowship and celebration. As friends and partners of Grace and Main Fellowship they would welcome both your attendance and your artwork at their show!  They are particularly interested in art focusing on faith, justice, and issues of poverty or homelessness, but will gladly welcome any artwork you may have to offer.

Chicken Dinner

American Legion Auxiliary Dan River Unit 1097 is hosting dinner Friday, July 25th at 5:30pm.  Dinner will include their fabulous bacon-wrapped chicken in a special sauce.  Plates cost $7 and also include potatoes, green beans, slaw, roll, dessert and tea/coffee! Money from this event go towards the legion's programs, post, veterans and community.  For more details, call 793.7531.

Open Air Market

Gretna Martching Band Boosters is hosting an Open Air Market Saturday, July 12th and Saturday, July 26th from 7am - 1pm in the Gretna High School parking lot.  Requested donation for vendors to sell items is $10 for 2 parking spaces.  All proceeds will benefit the Uniform Fund Drive. Church Yard "Give-Away"

Breath of Life Church (2233 North Main Street, Danville) is hosting a FREE Church "Yard Give-Away" Saturday, July 26th from 10am - 3pm.  Everything is free! First come, first serve!

The Humanity Bowl-A-Thon

The "Humanity Bowl-A-Thon" is a fundraiser designed to raise money for Habitat for Humanity. This organization has helped so many people create a new start. The Bowl-A-Thon will take place July 26th from 2-4pm at Riverside Lanes. Cost is $12 per person for two hours of bowling (shoe rental included).

Titan Transition Camp

Tunstall Middle School will be hosting its annual Titan Transition Camp on Thursday, July 31st from 9am - `12pm. Rising 6th graders, who will attend Tunstall Middle School, can meet fellow sixth graders from other elementary schools, learn how to open a locker and scavenger hunt their way around the school.  Parents or guardians may register online at http://tinyurl.com/titancamp2014 or mail in paper registration forms by June 23, 2014. Pancake Breakfast

The Sons of the American Legion Dan River Post 1097 will hold an All-You-Can-Eat Pancake Breakfast Saturday, August 7th from 7:30am - 10am.  Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, orange juice and coffee.  Funds will support the Sons of the American Legion Programs, post, veterans and the community.  For more information, contact Rick Humphries at 793.7531.

"MILTON" - Performance

Award-winning interdisciplinary theater company PearlDamour announces the world premiere of MILTON, a three-person performance comprised of spoken word and song that examines what it means to be American through the lens of small-town life.
The production is a culmination of two years’ worth of site visits made by PearlDamour’s Katie Pearl and Lisa D’Amour to five towns named Milton across the United States. In Wisconsin, North Carolina, Massachusetts, Louisana, and Oregon, PearlDamour interviewed local residents and community groups about where they live and how they define their role in the world.

Performances of MILTON will take place on Friday, August 8, at 7pm; Saturday, August 9, at 2pm and 7pm; and Sunday, August 10, at 2pm and 6pm at the Milton Women’s Club, located at 11928 Academy St., Milton, NC, 27305. A post-show discussion will follow each performance. Admission is free for Milton residents, and a $5-$15 donation is suggested for other patrons. Visit skyovermilton.com for more information.

Digestion vs Indigestion Seminar

Dr. Bhushan Pandya, a Board Certified gastroenterologist practicing at Danville Gastroenterology Center will be presenting a free dynamic and interactive program, Digestion vs. Indigestion on Tuesday, August 12, from 11:30am -1pm, at Ballou Recreation Center, lower level, at the corner of West Main and Park Avenue, Danville.   Digestive disorders are one of the most common disorders and s ymptoms can be attributed to a variety of causes, such as acid reflux and many others, including esophageal cancer, which has been on the rise over the last several years.   Find out more! This program is part of the popular free Keeping Well in Mind, Body & Spirit Series for those concerned with cancer prevention and survivorship, and is open to the entire community.  Everyone can benefit from the presentation.   It is brought to the Dan River Region by the Cancer Research and Resource Center of Southern Virginia in partnership with Danville Parks & Recreation.  The Cancer Research and Resource Center is funded by VCU Massey Cancer Center and the Tobacco Commission.   Please being your lunch and a friend!   Drinks and dessert are provided.   Boxed lunches can be ordered in advance for $6.00.   Call the Cancer Center to make a reservation, 434.421.3060.

Cruizn' At The Danville Mall

Time Machines Car Club and Danville Mall are proud hosting a Cruise-In every first Saturday of the month through September at Danville Mall from 6pm – 9pm. Cruise-In is open to ALL vehicles – from stock, special interest, modified, antique to performance and motorcycles).  Admission is a donation of a non-perishable food item and/or toiletries for God’s Storehouse
Each Cruise-In will feature a 50/50 Drawing with proceeds going to God’s Storehouse
