The Country's Hotlist with Shawn Parr

If anybody has ever told you that Hollywood and Country Music don’t work together, they have never met Shawn Parr. Born and raised in Southern California, he’s the perfect mix of surfer, golfer, wake boarder, Moto Cross rider...and, well, pretty much anything you can do outside. In fact, along with all these activities have come MANY broken bones. We really just consider ourselves lucky that he’s alive!

So do his 3 kids. Shawn has 2 priorities in life, his children and his work, and yes…in that order. His 2 boys and 1 Daddy’s girl keep him busy with sports, school and begging their dad for Taylor Swift tickets. That’s one of the perks of all his hard work.

Currently, Shawn hosts the morning show at Go Country 105 in Los Angeles, where he has been since the station was born in February 2007. But that’s nothing, Shawn’s been in Country radio in Los Angeles for over 21 years. Now he’s hosting his very own nationally syndicated show, The Country’s Hotlist.  He’s also the Announcer, or voice guy as we call him, for Dick Clark productions. Some of his annual duties include The American Music Awards, The Golden Globes, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, and the Academy of Country Music Awards. He also added the Jerry Lewis Labor Day telethon to his resume in 2009.

Shawn also has some acting under his belt, a recurring role on NBC’s Heist, and a supporting role in the poker themed Lucky You with Drew Barrymore, Robert Duvall and Eric Bana.

Being in Los Angeles and so close to his hometown allows him to give back. For the last  19 years Shawn has hosted the Shawn Parr Classic golf tournament for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. He’s also been the spokesperson and hosted another golf tournament for the John Tracy Clinic for hearing impaired children for 17 years. In fact he’s helped raise almost $2 Million for the clinic. Shawn is also very proud of his L.A.P.D Reserve Officer status, and for the last 15 years has hosted many of their events along with the Los Angeles Fire Department Widows and Orphans Fund. Pretty much, if there is a cause worth fighting for…Shawn Parr is always there to answer the call.
