Scharlie Dillon Benefit and Poker Run

The 4th Annual Scharlie Dillon Benefit and Poker Run will take place Saturday, April 28th at noon on Tuck Farm (3621 Green Pond Road, Chatham, Virginia).  Registration for the Poker Run will be from 10am - 11:30am.  There will also be pony rides, t-shirts, inflatables, face painting, airbrushed tattoos and more for the kids! Plus plenty of vendors on site, giveaways, raffles and food by donation prepared by Red and Janice Hardy, Big Deddy's BBQ and Whitetail Grills.

Scharlie is a six year old child who lives with Eosinophilic Espohagitis.  She's allergic to most foods and has a limited diet.  To help her gain more nutrients, she has to have one can of formula a day.  Insurance has started paying for the formula; however, there are many other medications she needs that are not fully covered and very expensive.  Also, she is in need of a new feeding tube to try and allow her to be able to eat even more foods.  Due to her condition, her eye sight is very poor and continues to get worse in one eye.  She has to have new lenses in her glasses every three months - insurance only pays for yearly upgrades. She is also being tested because she has several symptoms that could be associated with Mitochrondrial Disease. Eosinophilic Esophagitis and Mitochondrial Disease have no cures.

If you'd like to sponsor Scharlie's fundraising beneift or would like to find out more information and ways to help, call Kimber Burnett at 434.203.3349 or email her at kimber4scharlie@yahoo.com.
