CHICKEN DINNER
Friday, the American Legion Auxiliary Dan River Post 1097 will hold a chicken breast dinner from 5:30 until, at the post home on Fairfield Avenue behind Hylton Hall. Cost is $7 per plate, eat in or take out, and will consist of chicken breast, green beans, cole slaw, mashed potatoes, dessert and beverage. Funds from this event will be used to support the American Legion Post, veterans, and the community.

STEW & BAKE SALE
Saturday, the Westover Christian Academy Stew & Bake Sale that was originally scheduled for January 30th will be held. Tickets from the original date will be good for Saturday, March 13th.

SANDLOT SLUGGER LESSONS
Saturday morning, Danville Parks Recreation & Tourism starts it's Sandlot Slugger Lessons at Coates Recreation Center from 10:30 till 11:15am. The staff will teach your 3 to 5 year old the basic skills of softball. Parents can play, too! Cost for this 4-week program is $10 for city residents and $15 for non-city residents. MORE STEW 4 U
Saturday, Ringgold Volunteer Fire & Rescue will have their final stew of the season. Stew will cost $4.50 per quart, and will be ready for pickup around 9am. To reserve stew or for more information, call 434-822-6989. Reserved stew must be picked up by 12 noon.

JR. MISS PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY PAGEANT
Saturday, the 2010 Jr. Miss Pittsylvania County Pageant will be presented at 7pm at Chatham High Auditorium featuring "All American Girl." Girls ages 7 to 17 will be competing for titles of Petite, Pre-teen and Teen winners. Tickets at the door will be $8. Call 434-836-4363 for more information.

INTRODUCTION TO ALZHEIMER'S
Sunday, an introduction to Alzheimer's Disease, a special program at the Community Center on South Main Street in Chatham, will be presented from 3 till 5pm. It will feature short clips from the Emmy award-winning HBO documentary series on Alzheimer's, and a panel of care givers and professionals in the field. The event is sponsored by the Community Center and Watson Memorial United Methodist Church in Chatham, and is open to anyone interested. For more information and to register, call 434-432-0161.
