Hall Benefit Car Show

You're invited to join in on the fun during the Hall Benefit Car Show Saturday, September 5th at Heritage Hall (in South Boston). Trophies will be awarded for best Camaro, Mustang, Import or Domestic vehicle, Antique vehicle, street bike, cruiser bike and Kid's Choice.  Fee to enter the show is $10 per vehicle and $15 per vehicle to enter the "Burn Out" Contest. Door prizes, vendors, 50/50, kids activites and more!

Suicide Prevention Day

Head to Ballou Park Thursday, September 10th at 7pm as the community comes together to honor Suicide Prevention Day.  This event will be held as a partnership with Danville Pittsylvania Community Services Board and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Danville Community Out of Darkness Walk and will promote suicide awareness and prevention.  It will also offer a time of rememberance for those who have been lost to suicide.  The evening will conclude with a candelight vigil at 8pm.  It is free and open to the public.

Ashley Monroe

Monroe worked behind the scenes as both a songwriter and singer, having tunes appear on albums by Jason Aldean and Miranda Lambert while often singing sessions at Jack White's Third Man Records. Lambert turned out to be a pivotal connection for Monroe. The two became friends and, along with Angaleena Presley, formed Pistol Annies, whose 2011 eponymous debut became a significant hit. The success of Pistol Annies revived Monroe's solo career.
