Blood Drive

On Tuesday, June 30th and Wednesday, July 1st , 2016 , The City of Martinsville will host the Danville Regional Medical Center’s Blood Mobile at  the Fire Station located at 65 West Church Street; Martinsville VA  from 9am to 4pm.  Each donor will receive a free t-shirt or an umbrella.  Always remember that every pint saves three lives! “TOGETHER WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVE OF OTHERS”.
 

Power Washing Fundraiser

Recovery Refuge Peer Support Center is offering power washing sessions for donations.  100% of proceeds will benefit their efforts.  They're willing to power wash decks, porches, patios, driveways and sidewalks....no set fee!  Sessions are through Friday, July 3rd. “My grandfather used to do a Sunday morning gospel show on the radio with my second grade teacher,” Ray said with a laugh. “When I was 9 years old I wanted to learn how to play. I started playing guitar with my grandfather. Two, three nights a week we’d play community centers, Moose Lodges, assisted living homes, the VFW. I grew up with him on very, very old country music, I grew up playing Porter Wagoner, Bobby Bare, Earl Thomas Conley, Merle Haggard, Waylon - that was my first introduction to country music.”

Not long after, he went to his first big concert: Garth Brooks in Orlando.
