Car Wash Benefit

Virginia Reds 10U Baseball Team is hosting a Car Wash Benefit, Saturday, August 6th, 8am - 12pm at Outback Steakhouse.  Cost is $5 per vehicle and any other donations are gladly accepted.  There will also be bake sale items and drinks for purchase while you wait for your vehicle to be washed.  Proceeds from this event will help the team purchase uniforms, equipment and satisfy their tournament fees.

VFW Monthly Steak Dinner

VFW Post 647 Ladies Auxilary hosts a steak dinner every first Friday of the month from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Dinner includes steak, baked potato, salad, bread, drink and dessert for $14. This is available for dine-in or take-out. VFW Post 647 is on Highway 58 W across from Big Sky rents in Danville. Funds from these dinners stay local and are used to help the community.

Jake Owen

Jake took up golf, and began pursuing a career as a professional golfer, winning his first tournament at fifteen. After graduating from Vero Beach High School, they attended Florida State University. A wakeboarding accident which resulted in reconstructive surgery left Jake unable to continue playing the sport.

While recovering from his injuries, he borrowed a neighbor's guitar and began to teach himself how to play it. After seeing a guitarist perform at a campus bar, he asked the bar's owner if he could play a gig there. Eventually, he became a regular at the bar, and soon took up writing his own material as well.
