FIELDALE, Va. – The Henry County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a shooting that sent a Fieldale woman to the hospital.

Investigators say the female victim was shot in the face Tuesday night on 4th Street in Fieldale.

The woman was transported to Sovah Health Martinsville, where she was treated for non life-threatening injuries. Her name was not released. There are unconfirmed reports on social media that the victim is pregnant.

The sheriff’s office said that a suspect has been identified but has not been arrested. The name and a description of the shooter were not available.

The sheriff’s office says this was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the public.
