PITTYSLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – David Lee Robertson has been convicted of placing a hidden camera in the women’s restroom at a marina on Smith Mountain Lake.

The 65-year-old was found guilty of one charge and acquitted on a second charge. He is appealing the conviction.

The owner of the marina discovered the hidden camera in July 2019 and notified the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office. Robertson was arrested the next day at his home in Penhook.

Investigators charged Robertson with two misdemeanor counts of filming or photographing another person. He was convicted on one of the charges Monday.

The conviction carries a maximum sentence of 12 months in jail and a fine of up to $2,500.
