(Blairs, Va.) – Five people were injured in an accident on U.S. 29 in Blairs Thursday evening.

Virginia State Police say three of the injured are children. They are undergoing treatment for life-threatening injuries. The truck driver was not injured in the accident.

Two female adults and three children, all under the age of 11, were injured in the accident.

The three children were flown to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. The female driver is undergoing treatment at SOVAH Health Danville.

Troopers say the accident happened just before 6 p.m. A northbound truck turned onto 29 when it collided with a car. Two adults and three children were in the car.

State Police are continuing their investigation.
