Roanoke, Va.) — Roanoke Police are investigating a fatal shooting. Authorities responded to the 4500 block of Melrose Avenue Sunday evening after receiving a report of shots fired. On arrival, they found a Salem man with gunshot wounds. He was taken to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital where he died of his wounds.

The man’s name is being withheld pending notification of family members. Police are investigating the incident.
