(Danville, Va.) – A late night fire destroyed a mobile home Saturday.

Danville firefighters were called to 180 Lamberth Drive about 11:40 p.m. and found fire underneath the trailer with smoke and flames throughout.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control quickly but the mobile home was declared a total loss.

The trailer was undergoing renovations and was unoccupied. The fire was caused by an electrical short.

A dozen firefighters responded and remained on scene for three-and-a-half hours making certain the fire under the flooring was extinguished.
