(Pittsylvania County, Va.) – A 36-year-old man was killed in an ATV accident late Saturday night.

The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office identifies the victim as Keith A. Richardson of Dry Fork.

The Pittsylvania County E-911 Center was notified of the accident about 11:30 p.m. and responded to the intersection of Mill Road and Dry Ford Road.
Deputies found the body of a man who had been riding an ATV along the Norfolk-Southern right-of-way when he struck a guy wire and was killed instantly. Emergency personnel responded but Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident is under investigation by the sheriff’s office, along with Virginia State Police and railroad officials.
