ATLANTA (AP) – NFL owners pass a new rule that states that players must stand for the National Anthem or they can stay in the locker room.  This decision comes after the league finalized an $89 million social justice platform to take steps towards resolution of “the underlying issues” that were being protested.

NFL teams such as the Pittsburgh Steelers attempted to stay out of the debate last season by remaining in the tunnel during a game in Chicago.

NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, states, “It was unfortunate that on-field protests created a false perception among many that thousands of NFL players were unpatriotic. This is not and was never the case.”
