(Danville, Va.) – Bond has been granted to a teen charged with firing shots outside a Danville elementary school.
Danville Circuit Court Judge James Reynolds set a $50,000 secured bond for Darick Lamont Richardson of Danville.
The 19-year-old is charged with three felonies after Danville Police say he opened fire near GLH Johnson Elementary School on the afternoon of Feb. 14. Richardson is charged with discharging a firearm on school property, aid in concealing a stolen firearm, and illegally possessing a firearm on school property.
Danville Police said at the time that shots were fired near a shelter area on the school grounds but the gunfire was not directed at students. No one was injured and Richardson was arrested a few blocks from the scene.
His earlier requests for bond had been denied. In court Wednesday, the judge ordered that he not go within 1,000 feet of an elementary school.
