As work crews continue to remove downed trees and restore power lines in Danville and Pittyslvania County, officials are tallying the monetary cost of Sunday’s tornado.  In Pittsylvania County, Emergency Services Director Jim Davis estimates the storm caused more than one-point-3 million dollars to homes, barns and businesses, with 3 homes being completely destroyed and 19 others damages in different ways.

Power is nearly completely restored and no injuries or deaths were reported.

In the Westover area, there are still scattered outages, and thru traffic is blocked from Woodlawn Court to Hayes Court.

At Danville City Council last night, City Manager Ken Larking reported that the EF-1 tornado had caused more than 2-point-4 million dollars in damages.
