(Patrick County, Va.) – A body was found at the bottom of Lover’s Leap Thursday and investigators believe the remains are those of a Henry County man whose car was discovered nearby earlier in the week.

Searchers found the car belonging to 62-year-old Phillip Lilly below the overlook on Tuesday.

Crews descended the overlook  from a different angle on Thursday and found a body several hundred feet below the site where the car was recovered.

The remains have been sent to the state medical examiner to determine the cause of death and whether foul play was involved.

Lilly had been reported missing by family members in January.
