(Caswell County, N.C.) – An extensive search of the Pelham area following reports of a downed aircraft turned up nothing Saturday.

Helicopters and ground crews searched a wooded area near the Caswell and Rockingham County line starting at around 11:00 Saturday morning.

The search lasted several hours and was concentrated around Red Marshall Road and Chandlers Mill Road and included farmland off Burke Road.

Pelham, Providence, Caswell County EMS, the Caswell Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina Highway Patrol, Caswell Emergency Management, Yanceyville Fire, Casville Fire, North Carolina Emergency Management, Duke Life Flight, Caswell County 911 and the Riverbend Fire Department all assisted after receiving a report of a possible downed plane, however, nothing was found.
