(Danville, Va.) – Danville’s jobless rate inched lower between September and October. The Virginia Employment Commission reports that the city’s unemployment rate dipped from 5.7 percent in September to 5.6 percent in October.

Pittsylvania County’s jobless rate also dropped two-tenths of a percent, from 4.4 percent in September to 4.2 percent in October.

More workers also found jobs in Halifax County in October, where the unemployment rate dropped by one-tenth of a percent from 5.2 percent in September to 5.1 percent in October.

Henry County’s unemployment rate held steady at 4.7 percent in October.

Virginia’s seasonally adjusted jobless rate remained below the national average, which was down 0.1 percentage point in October to 4.1 percent.
