(Eden, N.C.) — A bankruptcy hearing to decide the future of Morehead Hospital has been delayed. The hearing had been set for Monday afternoon but was delayed two days to iron out differences with the hospital’s creditors. Bankruptcy Judge Benjamin Kahn delayed the hearing on the Eden hospital’s sale until Wednesday morning at the request of hospital leaders.

The hospital’s board earlier approved a plan to sell all its assets to the Empower iHCC partnership of Miami, Fla., for just less than $10.8 million in cash. The Greensboro News and Record reports that hospital officials are working to “resolve the objections” to the proposed sale brought by several major creditors.
