(Pittsylvania County, Va.) — Virginia State Police have identified the woman killed in a Friday wreck that sent four others to the hospital.

60-year-old Emma Belle Barksdale of Vernon Hill died at the scene of the accident, which happened about 3:45 Friday afternoon at U.S. 29 and Carters Lodge Road in Pittsylvania County.

The two-vehicle collision sent four people to the hospital and backed up traffic in both directions for several hours.

Virginia State Police say a Dodge minivan pulled from a private parking lot onto U.S 29 North, striking a Chevrolet Tahoe pulling a trailer and a boat.
