(Danville, Va.) — Over 150 SOVAH Health employees will be laid off in Danville and Martinsville in early November.

According to a Virginia Warn notice, the layoffs will affect 91 Danville employees and 67 Martinsville employees. The notice says both layoffs are effective November 6.

As this newsroom reported in June, the Danville and Martinsville hospitals were merging to become SOVAH Health. The merger was expected to take several months to complete.
